Description

Our log house is around 85m2. It features an open-plan kitchen and living room, a bedroom on the main floor, a bedroom upstairs, a bathroom and a drying room.

space that invites you to linger

The core of the building is a large, bright room with a modern kitchen, a dining table, a couch and a fireplace. Large panoramic windows offer a fantastic view of the lake.
A soapstone fireplace heats the storage water heater and the underfloor heating in winter.
A smart TV provides entertainment if the weather is poor.

recharging for the next day

The window of the main bedroom is north-facing and with a little luck you may catch a glimpse of the magical aurora borealis from your king-size bed.

The stairs takes you to another bedroom where one double (queen) and two single beds sleep up to four people.

your private mini spa

The bathroom features a shower, toilet and a washbasin. Like the rest of the main floor it has underfloor heating.

There is also a drying room for wet clothes or shoes, which is especially useful in winter. A Washing machine is located in this room.

Surroundings and activities

Whether you want to head out on an adventure by yourself or you decide to take advantage of Stefan’s experience on a cusomized
guided tour, there is lots to explore in Jämtland!
Just a stone’s throw away from the house our lake offers great opportunities.
Fishing is especially interesting for many guests. With a little luck you can not only lure perch and pike but also trout and grayling.
Our log house is situated near a shallow bay of the lake. On our little beach the depth increces gradually, so that even children can enjoy it. Additionally the local water temperature in summer often rises higher than the average in northern Swedish lakes. That means that you can not only take a quick, refreshing dip but even swim out to a little peninsula or take a quick break from swimming on some sunken rocks in the middle of the bay.

Using a canoe or kayak you could for exemple explore one of the islands or bays on Alsensjön.
Or you could enjoy relaxing walks through the forests along the shore of the lake. After a short drive you can hike up some hills to get a scenic view of the mountains and lakes of the area. Driving a little further takes you higher to an abundance of popular hiking trails.
In winter your walks don’t even have to be limited to the forests and lake shores: just walk on the thick ice of the frozen lake wherever your curiosity takes you!
During the summer months Mus Olles museum displays the treasures of Per-Olof Nilsson (Mus Olle). Born in 1874 on our farm, this colourful character roamed the area, collecting all manner of interesting and trivial items, cataloguing and displaying his collections for the public.
The ”fjäll” – a mountainous landscape – offers many hiking trails in the summer, and ski slopes in the winter. Nearby Åre is the hub of Swedish downhill skiing, and there are many lesser-known ski destinations in the surrounding area.
Skiing here is not limited to the mountains, though. Cross-county skiing is popular with people from all walks of life and almost every village has its own ski tracks.

The town of Östersund is about 30 km away. This is the capital of Jämtland and you can get there by car or public bus. In addition to its World Cup ski stadium, Östersund has a large open-air museum – “Jamtli”, an interesting historic city centre, shopping opportunities, a large public swimming pool and the well-known Storsjöyran festivals, among other attractions.
